Lincoln here we come!
SHOWJUMPING AREA COMP AT MALVERN.

A big thank you to everyone who competed at Malvern on the 30th june. It was a great day out and the sun was glorious !!

Both the novice teams done well with the Tigers being placed 6th and the Pumas on their tails at 7th.Alison Cupper and Hannah Gwilliam both had to jump off as they were the only novice riders to have jumped a double clear. Allison jump a cool clear round and gained 5th place individually, Hannah pushed on for a bit of speed but was unlucky to have two down !

NOVICE RESULTS
TIGERS; Jen Allen 4 0 Allison Cupper 0 0
Sian Rodway 4 4 Noel Ennett 8 0
PUMAS Hannah Gwilliam 0 0 Lisa Hyett 4 4
Kim Drinkwater 4 0 Di Cook 12 0

The Intermediate teams did well, with Chelt Lynx coming 3rd and the Panthers being 9th.Unfortunatly the panthers had to ride with a team of 3 so had no drop score. After the first round the panthers were looking good but the second round was eventfull. Kelly and Sian were unlucky to have a pole down each, and I was riding one handed as I broke my finger going over the second fence !!!

Chelt Lynx had few problems with Pippa Wilson and Fi Moore being the only intermediate riders to get a double clear, giving Pip 1st place indivdually. Well done Pippa for qualifying for the nationals in sept.

INTERMEDIATE RESULTS ;
PANTHERS Sian Evans 0 4 Michelle holder 0 12 kelly salter 4 4 Louise Wilkinson withdrawn
LYNX Bob Fennel 8 8 Pip Wilson 0 0 Jeanette Stayt 8 4 Fiona Moore 0 0

The Open Team also had to ride with a team of three,so no drop score. They all rode well,Lauren being placed 3rd individually. The team also in the ribbons with a 3rd.

We also had two teams in the style jumping comp, this was a new experience for most of us !!! It is marked like a dressage test with jumps.!!The horses could only be ridden in a snaffle so this caused a few problems and changes to the teams. Hannah stepped in to replace Jane Austin. Prince stood like a gem as the rest of the team changed his bit with Hannah still sat on him! Kim Drinkwater rode Noel's horse Hazza, she rode like a dream.(take note Noel !!) The judges were a bit slow which caused a few of the horses to get bored ,so they didn't perform as they usually do. Kim came 5th individually, well done to her for having the guts to compete on a different horse. The Hurdlers had to compete with three riders which reflected in the scores.

STYLE RESULTS:
CHELT CHASERS Michelle Holder 83 Sian Evans 88 Jeanette Stayt 25 Di Cook 90 TEAM = 9TH
CHELT HURDLERS Kim Drinkwater 97 Hannah Gwilliam 88 Lisa Hyett 70 TEAM = 10th

It was nice to see the teams supporting each other, and to come home with 3 teams placed,4 individual placings and a rider qualify. Well done to everyone, and next year we will be even better !!!

Hickstead here we come!

We have a trio of SJ riders heading down to Hickstead for the BRC Team of 3 Competition on August 1st, they will be Lisa Hyett (85cm), Pippa Wilson (95cm) and Jeanette Stayt (105cm).

Thanks to Lisa for drawing this one to our attention, but we'd like more notice next time! We had 1 week before entries closed so Michelle chased people up and eventually found our 3 guineapigs! We will go and test the waters this year having never done this before and who knows next year maybe we will send a few more faces to play, let Michelle know if you fancy this one all you budding Derby winners!

We are very lucky that Darren and Jeanette Stayt have provided sponsorship to help with the costs of getting there and stabling etc. without their support we wouldn't be going so we are very grateful to you both for this superb opportunity for the club. We wish them all the very best of success, and look forward to reporting on the results, Good Luck girls!

Hannah Ups the Game!

Last November, I was handed the role of grass route show jumping organiser. It has been privilege to be a part of what has become a real success. I have had about 15 members regularly attending the sessions at various venues with a handful of different trainers.

It is now the case, that we need to encourage these members to progress further. Introducing higher fences, more challenging courses and a few fillers etc. I will therefore be organising progressive show jump training. Ranging from 2'3 towards 2'9. As I am sure you can understand, that covers quite a wide range of ability and as there is only one of me, I will have to follow the needs of the majority. However early booking will not only ensure you have a place on your required lesson. It will also enable me to be more efficient at providing the right level of training for as many people
possible.

Should you consider yourself or your horse, grass route level. Do please still call me. If there are still a few of you out there, I will still do my best to link you up and provide you with the help you need to get you jumping. I would just like to take this opportunity to say, I am so proud of all my Grass route riders. You have shown such trust, courage and dedication in yourselves, your horses (Wally) and our fabulous instructors.
Thank you
PS. Move over novice show jumping team there are new guys in town!
