February 2009

Dear Team Managers
I make no apologies for having stolen much of the information below from Frampton Family Riding Club who issued it in relation to the SJ competition they have organised.
The points they make are equally applicable to the dressage on the 22nd

Directions specific to various venues

From main road turn left, then 50 yards down road take road signed Equestrian.
No cars allowed further into venue, therefore any accompanying cars to take first obvious left onto a car parking area (only a short walk across to the Hartpury Arena)
All lorries and trailers to park in car parks - recommended the first to arrive to park at rear (which is in fact nearer to all arenas. Vehicles parking in the main car park should be parked either pointing to buildings or pointing to the post and rail leaving space in the middle of the car park, enabling horses to move about and vehicles to maneuver when leaving.
No supporting cars to be parked in the trailer/lorry car parks, if one slips through they will be asked to leave.

VACCINATION CERTIFICATES AND PASSPORTS FOR ALL ENTRIES MUSTBE PRESENTED TO THE SECRETARY ON BOOKING IN together with completed Declaration Forms
We have checked all entries against the area 18 database but many of the competitors have not sent copies to Kelly so will need to be fully checked on the day. Horses whose vaccinations do not comply with the current BRC rules will not be able to compete.
On the day the vaccination checkers and Secretary will be based in the Reception Area at the Hartpury arena.
There are toilets in the Hartpury Arena block or depending on where participants are parked toilets are available at other areas around the site.
The snack bar in the Hartpury Arena will be open with the nearest door opening towards the car parks.
There is a pin board next to a coca cola machine by the snack bar, this is where the results will be put up as the day progresses.
Horses
NO tying up to lorries and trailers unsupervised.
Hartpury recommended vehicles be parked very close together actually making it impossible to tie to the sides.
NO hay nets to be tied outside vehicles or to be eaten and dropped on to the car parks.
Please pick up any droppings your horse may leave behind.
Warm up Arena
This will be one of the old indoor arenas. Riders should go to the warm up arena and report to the Steward and Tack checker.
Under no circumstances should riders go down to the collecting area in the Hartpury Arena unless instructed to do so by the Steward. Once the Steward has instructed a rider to go down to the collecting area they should do so immediately. For safety reasons a maximum of 4 riders only will be allowed in the collecting area at any one time. Riders will have approx 10 minutes to get from the warm up to the collecting arena which is more than sufficient.
Arenas 1 and 2
These are both in the Hartpury Arena. Riders will enter and exit in pairs under the instruction of the Stewards. Please listen out for your number being called to avoid any possible delays. Any competitors NOT in the collecting arena when called may have to endure a lengthy delay before riding their test. Please help us to help you by acting promptly on instructions from the Stewards

We wish everyone an enjoyable and successful day
Many thanks.
