History of Cheltenham Riding Club

Cheltenham and District Riding Club was established in 1956 by Jennifer Adamson who still lives at Prescott, the late Pauline Welton (nee Pauline Brock) who was a rally driver who lived on Prescott Hill Climb until she moved to Cornwall, the late Robin Treadwell who lived in Gretton until she moved to America and Janet Day, who is President of the club.

Later Ron Elliot joined us and we became Cheltenham and District Riding & Driving Club and had several driving members.

In the early 1990's the Cotswold Driving Club was formed so CDRC dropped the Driving section.

We are always looking for new members to offer different ideas or if only to grab some new faces to help out so if you want to join go to the membership page,  print, fill in and send off your cheque. Then come and introduce yourselves to us at one of the events, there's free tea and coffee at the dressage and we'll be pleased to see you - especially if you bring a packet of biscuits as Sue & Jill or Nicoles dog has usually eaten them all by 10 o’clock!  Please remember - you don't have to own a horse to join the riding club!   We are always desperate for helpers during our events.  It’s a brilliant way of meeting people and you will be very much appreciated!!!
